Mercedes Will Rebrand AMG Sport Cars Under The AMG Banner
Mercedes-Benz will soon rebrand their AMG Sports variants to just AMG. The AMG Sports was recently created to fill out the void between the standard luxury vehicles to hardcore AMG sports cars.
The German giant has come to this conclusion since the introduction of a huge collection of new models has been leading to a lot of confusion. Mercedes thinks that it will make a lot of sense if they could just categorize the cars into just 2 types.
The luxury-oriented cars will fall under the regular Mercedes-Benz name and the high-performance models will be under the AMG brand name.
The C450 AMG would be the first among the AMG Sport range to carry the new badging and would be called the Mercedes-AMG C43. The upcoming E-Class based AMG version will likely be called the Mercedes-AMG E43, and will use the same V6 engine found in the C43.
Until 2014, all cars with a 63 AMG badge were equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8, which were later replaced with a much more economical and efficient bi-turbo 4.0-litre V8.
