Mercedes Rescue-Assist App Is Like A Pokemon Go For Saving Lives
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new augmented reality application designed specifically for the first responders of an accident.
The Rescue Assist app works by displaying the vital systems of a damaged vehicle via a smartphone or tablet.
The Rescue Assist App works like the Pokemon Go game, but instead of hunting Pokemon, the system displays a 3D representation of the systems of the damaged vehicle at the crash scene.
The Fuel lines, batteries and air bags, are rendered in the interactive application for the rescuers. It also enables the responders to zoom and rotate to assess the situation and proceed the extrication of the victims.
The new app is an evolution of the already existing Rescue Assist Program, which was specially made to allow emergency operators to identify the schematics of a vehicle.
The augmented reality-based application does not need a WiFi connection nor a cellular signal since it is preloaded with detailed information on every Mercedes-Benz passenger car built after 1990.
