Mercedes-Benz Electric Cars To Challenge BMW & Tesla — What To Expect?
Electric cars are the future and BMW has the 'i' division and Audi has announced an upcoming car. Porsche is working on the Mission E, which leaves Mercedes alone.
Now, to keep the game going, Mercedes is reportedly working on a sub brand, dedicated to electric cars. Electric prototypes have been spotted testing and Mercedes also has a lineup of electric passenger cars and SUVs in its plan.
The rumour of Mercedes planning on a separate sub brand comes from Bloomberg, which claims that an anonymous source has an idea of what mercedes is planning. The name has been decided yet, but the carmaker has plans of two sedans and two SUVs.
Also, Mercedes has already announced that it will showcase an electric SUV prototype at the Paris Motor Show.
What Mercedes could do with the new electric car sub brand is something similar to what it did with AMG and Maybach - naming it Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach. The upcoming electric cars from Mercedes will have to compete with Tesla, Mission E, and even what Audi is to launch.
