Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard India Launch On March 8
Mercedes-Benz will be launching its exclusive Maybach S600 Guard in India on March 8, 2016. The German luxury carmaker showcased its armoured vehicle at the recent 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The S600 Guard by Mercedes-Maybach will be built in Stuttgart, Germany.
Under the hood of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard will be a 6.0-litre V12, twin-turbo engine. The engine will produce 523bhp, along with 829.74Nm of peak torque output. It is the same engine that does duty in the regular Mercedes-Maybach S600 model offered in several markets.
The Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard will come with a VR10 ballistic rating. It means that both windows, doors, and bodywork can withstand steel core bullets. The S600 Guard has received the highest rating for civilian protection vehicle.
Surprisingly, Mercedes-Maybach has not provided the S600 Guard with an armoured fuel tank. The engineers have opted for an unique solution for their fuel tank. A special coating is applied to the fuel tank that shuts any holes when hit, it is the same material used by Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.
Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard gets several other features that make it a safe as well as a luxurious vehicle. The vehicle will not be made available to everyone and will be offered only to VIPs in the country. Stay tuned for more updates and pricing as we get closer to the launch.
