Mercedes India Appoints Michael Jopp As VP Of Sales & Marketing
Mercedes-Benz India has appointed an all-new Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Michael Jopp will be taking over from Boris Fitz as VP of Sales and Marketing in India. Boris Fitz will be moving up and taking a role with Mercedes-Benz Turkey.
Boris Fitz has been credited with developing the densest and qualitative dealership network in India for Mercedes-Benz. He also focussed on setting up dedicated Mercedes-Benz dealers within the country. Fitz also played an important role in the growth of sales in the Indian market.
Jopp has close to 20 years of experience in the German automobile industry and has also worked in several international markets with OEMs and distributors.
During 2015, Mercedes-Benz launched 15 new models in the Indian market. For 2016, the German-based automobile manufacturer plans on introducing ten new models in the country. Mercedes-Benz is the leader of the luxury segment in India and wants to maintain this position.
