Leak Reveals New Mercedes E-Class Coupe In All Its Glory
A leaked brochure has revealed all the details about the E-Class Coupe from Mercedes-Benz which will be unveiled in afew days time.
A leaked brochure has revealed all the details about the upcoming Mercedes E-Class Coupe which is set to be unveiled by the German carmaker on Wednesday, December 14.
The brochure which was leaked online by Belgian website AutoTijd and shows off the new E-Class Coupe in both Avantgarde and AMG Line trims.
If the E-Class Coupe looks quite familiar, you would be right as Merc's latest coupe borrows styling cues from its S-Class and C-Class coupe siblings.
Compared to its four-door sedan sibling, the E-Class gets a sportier looking front end along with a panoramic sunroof which meets up with sharply raked back windscreen. The roof itself gently sweeps down to the rear end of the new car and looks elegant.
At the rear, the E-Class Coupe receives a set of thin horizontal wraparound tail lights along with a small boot lip spoiler and exhausts coming out of either side of the rear bumper.
Inside, the new E-Class Coupe features twin 12.3-inch display one of which replaces the instrument cluster while the other plays host to the infotainment system. Also present is a 23-speaker Burmester sound system along with redesigned circular air vents and new front seats.
The leaked brochure also confirmed the four variants of the E-Class that will be available at its launch: E200, E220d, E300 and the E400.
The E220d uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that cranks out 191bhp and 400Nm of torque and is paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The E200 and E300 variants both use the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. In E200, the engine cranks out 181bhp and 300Nm of torque while in the E300, the petrol powerplant produces 241bhp and 370Nm of torque.
The top of the line E400 uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 that kicks out 328bhp and 480Nm of torque. The E400 Coupe will sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250km/h.
Like the diesel-powered E-Class coupe, all the petrol variants make use of 9-speed automatic gearbox to send the power to the rear wheels. A more powerful Mercedes E50 AMG variant is also said to be on its way but will be released in 2017.
Mercedes has also released a short teaser video which shows a few details about the new E-Class Coupe along with the date for its unveiling.
