German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has teamed up with Garia, a Scandinavian golf car maker to bring a concept to real life - the Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car. The design was based on the results created after Mercedes invited golf and automobile fans to submit their ideas of a golf cart.
The Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car looks very futuristic, but with practicality. The golf cart can be operated or driven with the help of an 8-inch tablet, which can also be used to switch between drive modes.
The interior is finished in premium materials and has few really cool things like an integrated electronic scorecard, weather app, and the occupants can also see the layout of the golf course.
The Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car is purely electric. Mercedes promise smooth driving, be it on the golf course or on road. The golf cart is equipped with indicators, headlamps, and rear lights, which make it road legal in few places like the USA.
The golf cart weighs 440kg and can carry a load (people) up to 460kg. For safety reasons, the top speed of the car is restricted to 30km/h, and with a full charge, the Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car can travel upto 80km. The battery can be fully charged in six hours.
Garia will first build two drivable examples of the golf cart and could be put into series production if customer response is good. The Mercedes-Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car will be sold only through digital channels.
