Mercedes To Launch The S-Class Of SUVs In India On May 18
Mercedes-Benz will be launching the GLS luxury SUV in India on May 18, 2016. The German-based manufacturer is rightfully projecting the model as the S-Class of SUVs. The GLS is basically Mercedes-Benz's GL-Class in a facelifted avatar.
Various variants of the GLS are expected to be launched in India. We expect that Mercedes-Benz would price its luxury SUV within the price range of Rs. 75 lakh to Rs. 1.4 crore. Currently, production of the GLS 350d variant has commenced at Mercedes Chakan facility.
The different engines in Mercedes-Benz GLS will be mated to a common 9-speed automatic transmission. We will have to wait until the launch date to know exactly which all engine options will be offered in the country. One can be sure that all engine options will be mammoth sized.
In terms of safety, Mercedes-Benz will equip their GLS with latest features and technology. The GLS will feature Pre-Safe, Brake Assist, Collision Prevention Assist, Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, Cruise Control, ESP, and electronic AWD traction system with 4ETS.
Design, as well as interior creature comforts, will be top-notch. Mercedes-Benz India plans on providing similar comfort that is experienced in the S-Class to passengers of the GLS. Stay tuned for more updates and vital information as we will be providing live updates from the launch.
