Mercedes-Benz To Launch GLC Coupe In India; What To Expect? -- Details
After launching the GLE Coupe in India, and the GLC SUV, German carmaker Mercedes-Benz may launch a Coupe version of the GLC in India in 2017. Mercedes-Benz has big plans for India and is expanding its portfolio in India as well.
In 2015, Mercedes-Benz launched 15 new models in the country and for 2016, Mercedes has planned a total of 12 launches.
Based on the GLC SUV, the GLC Coupe will have a strong resemblance to the SUV when looked from up front, but the design changes dramatically towards the rear of the vehicle. The rear takes a similar design to that of the GLE Coupe, along with sleeker tail lamps.
Mercedes could use the 220d diesel engine that makes 167bhp or the 250d diesel engine that produces 236bhp, along with the 9-speed automatic gearbox. There are also chances of Mercedes offering customers a petrol hybrid variant.
Safety features will be of abundance such as eight airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR), and Mercedes' pre-safe system.
As for the pricing, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe could be priced under Rs. 60 lakh in India, keeping in mind that the GLC SUV is priced at Rs. 50.7 lakh ex-showroom (Pune).
