Mercedes-Benz GLB Moniker Trademarked For Future Model
Mercedes-Benz recently decided to drop M-Class nomenclature. The German manufacturer has opted to use the 'GL-Class' tag for all new and existing SUV models. Now the GLB moniker has been trademarked for an upcoming model.
The GLB model could be an all-new model that will be slotted in between the GLA and GLC model. Mercedes-Benz is most likely to develop a new model based on the existing B-Class vehicle. So far, only the GLB moniker has been confirmed without any model approval.
Currently, Mercedes-Benz has an extensive portfolio with at least one model in each segment. Officials explain that there is always room for new and interesting models. The GLB model from the German manufacturer could attract an all-new customer segment to the brand.
So far, there is no confirmation whether Mercedes will ever launch a GLB model. We expect, if the GLB ever launches, Mercedes-benz will offer both petrol and diesel engine options. An AMG derivative, along with a hybrid option could also be on offer once the GLB model becomes a reality.
