McLaren Teases The World’s First Hyper-GT
McLaren has teased a Hyper-GT car called BP23, that will be put to production soon. Very few details have been revealed about the car.
The McLaren F1 will always be remembered by automobile enthusiasts for the car's performance, the naturally aspirated engine, and of course, the three seat layout.
Now, McLaren has confirmed that a new car, a Hyper-GT, that will roll out of the production line soon. McLaren has managed to tease fans with an image though.
The car is called BP23 (Bespoke Project 2, 3 seats) at the moment, and will be built by McLaren's MSO division. The car will be manufactured in limited numbers, 106 to be exact like the F1 and all the models have been sold out already.
As the teaser image above shows, the new McLaren Hyper-GT will have a three seat layout, and will be a long distance tourer, than a track focused car. The car is expected to hit the market in 2019.
Mike Flewitt, the CEO of McLaren Automotive said this: "We are calling BP23 a ‘Hyper-GT' because it's a car designed for longer journeys but with the high levels of performance and driver engagement expected of any McLaren.
Performance wise, the McLaren BP23 Hyper-GT will sport a hybrid terrain, similar to that of the P1, which makes 903bhp. Nothing has been revealed yet though, apart from the fact that body will feature loads of carbon fibre.
