McLaren-Honda Sort Out Reliability, Focus On Performance
McLaren-Honda has worked hard over the winter to develop a reliable and race worthy machine for the 2016 Championship. The 2015 Formula One season was the worst ever experienced by the McLaren outfit. Button and Alonso have spent multiple hours solving the problem with their engineers.
Now Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso believe that reliability issues have been solved. They will now be shifting their focus and attention to extracting performance out of the engine. Unfortunately, McLaren-Honda did not score any points at the Australian GP.
Fernando Alonso was in a strong position and seemed positive to secure points. The Spaniards clash with Esteban Gutierrez was horrific and could be fatal. Alonso himself admitted that he was really lucky to walk out from his accident without any major injuries.
No problems were experienced during the entire weekend by McLaren, which is a good sign. We can expect both Button and Alonso competing in the mid-pack soon. McLaren-Honda is only going to get stronger as the 2016 season progresses.
The next race will be held under the floodlights of the Sakhir Bahrain GP. The Formula One drivers and teams will commence free practice from April 1 while the main race will be contested on April 3, 2016.
