Waiting Period For Maruti Vitara Brezza Goes Up By 6 Months

Maruti Suzuki launched its Vitara Brezza compact SUV in India during March 2016. In a matter of two months, the Japanese-based manufacturer has raked in over 55,000 bookings. Due to the overwhelming bookings, Vitara Brezza now attracts a waiting period of almost six months.

All of the new models from Maruti Suzuki have been doing exceptionally well in terms of sales. The Ciaz sedan, Baleno hatchback, along with Vitara Brezza compact SUV contribute to nearly half of the total sales.

The base variant of Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza costs Rs. 6.99 lakh, while top-most variant is priced at Rs. 9.68 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The Vitara Brezza competes with the likes of Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV3OO model in the Indian market.

Production of Vitara Brezza has been increased by Maruti Suzuki. Currently, production is set at one lakh units per year, however, they plan on further increasing it to 1.2 lakh units a year. The increase in production should bring down waiting period to roughly two-three months.

During April 2016, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 7,832 Vitara Brezza models. The compact SUV is a growing segment in the Indian market. Almost every manufacturer wants to have an offering in this segment to garner maximum amount of sales.
