Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Vitara Brezza in the Indian market. This is the first compact SUV by the automobile giant in the country. Surprisingly, Maruti Suzuki has decided not to provide its sub-4 metre offering with its SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology.
At this moment, Maruti Suzuki offers its SHVS technology with two models. The Ciaz sedan and Ertiga MPV both are equipped with optional SHVS technology. Maruti Suzuki claims that its SHVS technology improves fuel efficiency as well as enhances the driving experience.
The newly launched Vitara Brezza is offered with a single 1.3-litre diesel engine. The engine is tuned to produce 88.51bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. The Vitara Brezza is equipped with front wheel drive and the engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission without an automatic option.
The Vitara Brezza is priced from Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs. 9.68 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) which is an introductory pricing. Maruti Suzuki has raked in over 5,600 bookings for the compact SUV within a period of 48 hours, which is phenomenal.
In the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza faces tough competition and with SHVS tech, it would earn a beneficial advantage. The EcoSport by Ford and TUV3OO by Mahindra are strong contenders within the sub-4 metre segment. Stay tuned for more updates on Maruti Suzuki and their upcoming models.
