Maruti Suzuki Sets Up First Water ATM In Kasan Village, Manesar
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has installed its first of a kind water ATM in Kasan Village, as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The water ATM facility in Kasan, Manesar was inaugurated by Bimla Choudhary MLA, Pataudi and R S Kalsi, the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at Maruti. Dignitaries also gave out fresh water cans to villagers, marking the launch of the project.
The Kasan water ATM has the capacity to purify 1000-litres of water every hour, and cost the carmaker Rs. 20 lakh to set up the facility. The water ATM facility is expected to benefit over 10,000 resident villagers.
The Water ATM facility was supported by Maruti Suzuki and was set up by Waterlife India. The Kasan Village Panchayat is the owner of this project and the land was provided by them, and will also provide the water and electricity needed to run the ATM.
Maintenance will be undertaken by Waterlife India for a period of 10 years, and water from the ATM will be sold for a price of 35 paise/litre.
