Maruti Suzuki Kicks Off Festive Season With A Bang In Sales For September
Maruti Suzuki has posted an increase in sales for the month of September 2016 leading the festive season in the country. The company posted 29.4 percent growth in its domestic sales of vehicles for the month.
The company sold 1,37,321 units for the month against 1,06,083 units in the same month in 2015. Maruti's best ever monthly sales going past the previous best of 1,25,778 in July this year. The company said it is committed to achieve double-digit growth for the financial year.
The main contributions came from the reflection of the popularity, appreciation, and acceptance of the different range of vehicles. The high growth was led by Ciaz, Baleno, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross which have continued to provide the best numbers said the company.
Even its small cars like the Alto and WagonR models sales were 44,395 during September compared to 35,570 units in thesame month in 2015. That is an increase of 24.8 percent for the company.
Its compact segment which includes models like Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Baleno and Dzire clocked sales of 50,324 units against 44,826 in September 2015, that's again an increase of 12.3 percent.
As for the utility vehicles, models like Gypsy, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and Ertiga witnessed sales of 18,423 units compared to 6,331 units in same month last year, that's a huge surge of 191 percent.
