Maruti Suzuki Joins Hands With Ola To Train 40,000 Drivers
Maruti Suzuki and Ola have partnered to train around 40,000 drivers to help them obtain commercial license.
Maruti Suzuki India has partnered with online taxi aggregator Ola to train driver-partners. Under the Maruti Ola Training Program, the company targets to train 40,000 driver-partners.
Maruti Suzuki and Ola partnership will create entrepreneurship opportunities for aspiring drivers to make the urban transportation safe, reliable and convenient.
The first phase of this initiative will be rolled out in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and in NCR. Gradually it will be expanded to Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Pune.
Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki, RS Kalsi said, "We have evolved a comprehensive training program comprising simulators, theory and practical sessions, imparted through 370 Maruti Driving Schools and six IDTRs across India."
Chief Operating Officer, Ola, Pranay Jivrajka said, "This partnership falls in line with Ola's goal of skilling 5 million drivers in the next 5 years and continue to build a conducive ecosystem for them to grow as entrepreneurs."
According to a memorandum of understanding, Maruti Suzuki would help the Ola partner-drivers to obtain the commercial license and will also assist in availing vehicle finance for purchase of an own vehicle.
After completing the course Ola will also provide qualified leads of potential driver-partners for Maruti Suzuki for assisting them with the commercial driving training.
The drivers will undergo a 30-day driving training which includes classroom sessions and practical training sessions. There will be a pre and post-assessment test to gauge the driving skills of the drivers.
