the
Ignis.
Now,
according
to
reports,
the
Ignis
could
get
the
SHVS
mild-hybrid
system.
This
system

the
fuel
efficiency.
By adding this feature, Maruti can take advantage of the government's FAME tax incentive. Earlier, the company has revealed that they are working on low-cost hybrid technology for its future vehicles.
If Maruti offers the SHVS system on the Ignis, the model will be similar to the Japan-spec and Euro-spec models. Both the version offers the system in the 1.25-litre variant.
The Indian-spec model will be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine option. Both the engines are likely to be paired with manual and AMT gearboxes.
The Ignis uses the same lightweight platform as the Baleno. The car also has a boxy body shape and it gets a sporty front grille, projector headlamp, DRLs, roof rails, plastic body cladding and alloy wheels.
Inside, the Ignis features a new steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, dual-tone dashboard and an infotainment system. The model is also a five-seater model and the closest vehicle we can compare it to is Mahindra's KUV 100.
If Maruti introduces the SHVS variant of the Ignis, then it will be the company's another best selling product in the Indian market.
