Maruti Ignis Mini-SUV Likely To Launch In India During Early 2017
Maruti Suzuki showcased its Ignis mini-SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Since then, there is a buzz surrounding the launch of Ignis. Now, according to reports Maruti Suzuki plans on launching the Ignis sometime during early 2017.
Under the hood of Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine option. Both engines are likely to be mated to manual as well as AMT gearboxes. So far, there is no detail on performance figures and other vital information.
Previously, Maruti Suzuki planned on launching the Ignis mini-SUV earlier in the Indian market. At this point, however, they are focussing on reducing the waiting period for Vitara Brezza compact SUV and Baleno premium hatchback. This is one of the reasons for Ignis launch being pushed further behind.
Ignis mini-SUV is most likely to be sold through Maruti Suzuki's all-new NEXA outlets. Currently, only S-Cross and Baleno models are offered at NEXA. Expect Maruti Suzuki Ignis to price its Ignis at a premium compared to Mahindra KUV1OO model.
