Maruti Suzuki Hikes Prices; Brezza To Witness Upto Rs. 20,000 Hike
Maruti Suzuki has hiked prices for select models in its lineup. The increase in price varies from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 5,000, while models like the Baleno and the Brezza witness a price hike of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.
The price increase is effective August 1, 2016. The carmaker informed in a BSE filing regarding the price hike and the reason was based on factors such segment wise demand, forex movements, and strategic objectives of the company.
Maruti Suzuki witnessed its highest ever domestic sales recorded in a month during July 2016, having sold 1,25,778 units, compared to selling 1,10,405 units during July 2015. Sales witnessed an increase of 13.9 percent.
Maruti Suzuki also witnessed a marginal increase in exports of 0.3 percent. Export numbers stood at 11,338 units for July 2016. Combining the carmaker's exports and domestic sales together, the company sold 1,37,116 units in July 2016 compared to selling 1,21,712 units during July 2015.
