Maruti Suzuki's premium hot hatchback is on the cards for launch. Compared to current Baleno, the RS version is expected to be loaded with features. Here we shed some light into the long list of features of this sporty hatch.
The Baleno RS will be equipped with Bi-xenon automatic headlamps with LED DRL's, rain sensing wipers, dual airbags, SmartPlay infotainment system with navigation, parking sensors with reverse camera and electric ORVM's.
The Baleno RS will be the only hatch except for the Fiat Abarth Punto to get disc brakes on all four wheels. This will be the only affordable hatch in India to have all-wheel disc brakes.
The Baleno RS will be the sportier iteration of current Baleno. As expected the RS version gets sportier front and rear bumper. The rear bumper features dual -toned scheme with the faux diffuser. It will also come with side skirts and diamond-cut alloy wheels.
But the life of this sporty hatch lies in its 1-litre Boosterjet engine. Yes, this is the first turbocharged petrol model from Maruti Suzuki. The turbocharged workhorse is expected to produce 110bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. It will be coupled with five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. The automatic version is also expected to come with paddle shifters.
The premium hatchback will be the third model from Maruti Suzuki to be sold in Nexa premium dealership. As far as the pricing is concerned the Baleno RS will be placed above the current-gen Baleno.
