Recently, Maruti Suzuki announced that its Baleno has crossed one lakh bookings in India. The premium hatchback is sold exclusively in India through their NEXA dealerships and has accounted for approximately 38,000 deliveries. It seems like the manufacturer was gearing up models for the export market.

At the time of Baleno's launch, officials had announced that the vehicle will be introduced in 100 countries. Maruti Suzuki will manufacture the Baleno in India and export it to markets like Japan, Latin America, Europe, certain parts of Africa, and several other countries.

Japan gets the Baleno with two engine options, a 1.2-litre Dualjet and 1.0-litre Boosterjet. The engines will be mated to an optional CVT gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Maruti Suzuki has manufactured the Baleno for Japan at their Haryana facility.

The Japanese Baleno model gets several features not provided in the India-spec hatchback. Radar Brake Support helps in their collision-mitigation system. Suzuki has also equipped the vehicle with adaptive cruise control and hill hold control and many more features.
