Maruti Baleno Commences Its Journey To Europe
Maruti Suzuki's new hatch, Baleno, is being shipped to Europe much before its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Maruti's parent company, Suzuki Motor Corp. is yet to formally launch the hatchback, which is produced only in India.
The India-made Baleno will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show 2016, to be held from March 3rd to 13th for the public and the press days will be on March 1st and 2nd.
The Baleno was first showcased to the world at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 and then later launched in India. The premium hatchback has created a lot of flutter in the premium hatchback segment and is being sold through Maruti Suzuki's NEXA outlets.
The Indian arm of Suzuki Motor Corp., Maruti Suzuki is planning to export the hatchback to over 100 global markets. The company has spent nearly Rs. 1,000 crores in the development of the Baleno and is being manufactured at the Manesar plant in Haryana.
The Baleno is a hatchback with loads of features and comes with variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. All variants come with petrol and diesel engines and an automatic is available in the Delta petrol format.
Prices of the car starts from Rs. 5.11 lakh to Rs. 8.16 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Dual airbags and ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic brakeforce distribution) comes as standard across all variants. Maruti Suzuki has got these features much before we see them as standard features on all cars from October 2017 in India.
The Baleno is the latest launch from Maruti's stable and it competes in the premium hatchback segment and it competes with the likes of Hyundai's i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
