Maruti Ciaz Could Get More Powerful Diesel Engine As Part Of 2017 Update
A 1.6-litre MultiJet Diesel engine is most likely to be featured in 2017 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan. The Japanese-based automobile maker is also likely to provide several design updates soon.
Maruti Suzuki currently offers its Ciaz premium sedan with both petrol and diesel engine options. Now, the Japanese-based automobile manufacturer could introduce an all-new 1.6-litre MultiJet Diesel engine. There is also a plan of selling updated Ciaz via NEXA outlets across India.
This is the same engine that is currently offered in Maruti Suzuki's S-Cross. Main reason for introducing this engine update in Ciaz sedan is its rivals. Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, and Skoda Rapid all sport larger capacity diesel engines.
The 1.6-litre diesel engine will produce 118bhp, along with 320Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will perform better with this diesel engine update. Existing 1.3-litre diesel engine is most likely to be offered as well as an option to customers.
Currently, base variant of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is priced attractively at Rs. 7.53 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The Ciaz sedan is a complete value for money proposition in the Indian market. With the 2017 update, expect all-new Ciaz to bear a more expensive price tag at NEXA outlets.
