Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the compact SUV, is all set to be launched on 21st March 2016 as per the recent update by ET Auto. The new entrant will go head on with Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, and the Ford EcoSport.
India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is looking to create a dent in the compact SUV segment, which is now dominated by Hyundai's Creta. Maruti, however, will be pricing it lower than some its competitor. The Brezza will be in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to 8.5 lakh.
Maruti has as of now confirmed a 1.3 litre diesel engine sourced from the Fiat stable, which produces 90bhp of power at a max torque of 200Nm. This will be mated a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Vitara Brezza showcased in the recently concluded Auto Expo 2016, might get a petrol engine, however, this might be for export only. The variants of the Brezza include LDi, VDi, ZDi and ZDi+.
Maruti has developed this SUV fully in India and its campaign of 'Make In India' is being established with 98 percent of localisation.
Maruti Suzuki has had more hits than misses in their line up of the vehicles, and holds nearly 50 percent of the market and will pull out all stops to get this SUV in the already overcrowded compact SUV's. We will need to wait and watch how the company is looking provide a better deal compared to other manufacturers.
The Brezza will be sold through its tried and tested dealers who have been waiting for a launch which will be sold through their sales channel. Some of the recent launches like the S-Cross and Baleno are being sold through Maruti's NEXA outlets.
The Vitara Brezza will be a much awaited SUV for the Indian consumers since the company boasts of big numbers service centers and showrooms in the country.
