One of the most awaited hot hatches to be launched in the Indian market is the Maruti Suzuki Baleno with the Boosterjet engine. The Baleno RS will sport an optional automatic gearbox, and if the sources are to be accurate, the Baleno could get paddle shifters.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS was showcased during the 2016 Auto Expo that took place in Delhi, and what Maruti has under the hood is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. As of the Japanese spec car, the Balno RS makes 109bhp and 160Nm of torque.
The car will be available with an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox which will sport paddle shifters.
When launched, the Baleno RS will compete with the Volkswagen Polo Gt TSI and the Abarth Punto, bot which have turo petrol engines. The Abarth Punto comes with a manual gearbox only, while the Polo GT TSI comes with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The Maruti Baleno RS will have an advantage in terms of pricing when compared to the Polo and the Punto.
Distinguishing the Baleno RS with the model being sold currently will be aggressive looking bumpers at both ends, sideskirts, wider radiator intakes, and sporty seats. There are high chances of the Baleno RS to be launched during this festive season.
