Maruti To Roll Out Baleno And New Dzire From Suzuki’s Gujarat Plant

Suzuki's under construction plant in Gujarat will play host to the Baleno when it starts operations in 2017.

The new plant in Gujarat is the first ever plant in India that s owned completely by Suzuki and is being made to help the company's Indian operations alone.

At first, Maruti will look to produce 85,000 units of the Baleno premium hatchback, half of which will the diesel variant of the car.

Production of the Baleno at the Manesar plant in Haryana will still continue, but Maruti could shift the Baleno's production line to Gujarat complex. Another reason for the shift to Gujarat is the close proximity of the plant to the seaport of Mundra which would bring the shipping costs down as well.

There are 64,000 units of the Baleno that have already been sold in India and Maruti has already shipping the car to external markets as well. The waiting period for a new Bal=kei

The plant which is located in the Mehsana district of Gujarat, will also be the production centre of the next-gen Swift Dzire when it enters production in 2018.
