Maruti Baleno Crosses 75,000 Sales; Waiting Period Increases To 6-8 Months
Maruti Suzuki has witnessed an overwhelming response for the Baleno premium hatchback. The Japanese manufacturer has now managed to deliver 75,000 units of the Baleno. The waiting period for the premium hatchback has also increased to roughly six to eight months.
In an attempt to reduce the waiting period for customers, Maruti Suzuki has increased the production of the Baleno. The Japanese-based manufacturer still has 45,000 pending orders in the Indian market. In excess of one lakh bookings have been made till date for the Baleno.
The Baleno is available exclusively through Maruti's NEXA dealerships pan India. Maruti Suzuki launched the Baleno premium hatchback in India during October 2015. Roughly, the Japanese-based manufacturer averages selling 10,000 units per month.
Under the hood of Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. Both petrol and diesel engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine is equipped with an optional 4-speed automatic transmission.
The base variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno costs Rs. 2.29 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Maruti Suzuki is soon supposed to launch the Baleno RS in India. An all-new 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET petrol engine will be used in Baleno RS. This engine will produce 110bhp and 170Nm of torque.
