Maruti Suzuki Baleno Crash Test Results – Is Your New Baleno Safe Enough?
Maruti Suzuki's Baleno premium hatchback was subjected to the Euro NCAP crash test. A series of frontal and side impact zones were tested. For 2016, the Euro NCAP has added several new testing features to declare how safe a vehicle is built.
Two variants of the Baleno were tested during Euro NCAP crash tests. The standard Baleno model secured a decent 3-star safety rating. Suzuki equips the premium hatchback with an optional safety package, which was awarded an impressive 4-star safety rating.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki manufactures and exports the Baleno from India. The European model gets optional Radar Brake Assist, which is not permitted in India as of now. The model tested was equipped with the dual front as well as side curtain airbags for maximum occupant safety.
The India-spec model of the Baleno adheres to all domestic safety regulations. Unfortunately, crash testing is not mandatory yet in the country. Safety features are also optional; however, Maruti Suzuki offers the Baleno with dual airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner, and ABS as standard.
