Discounts On Maruti Alto 800; Kwid & redi-Go Popularity Effect

Maruti Suzuki will be providing discounts and benefits on its popular selling model. The Alto 800 will be available with a maximum discount worth Rs. 82,000 in Delhi alone. Customers planning to by the Alto 800 in Mumbai can avail a discount worth Rs. 55,000 for a limited period.

Discounts account for exchange bonus, loyalty bonus, corporate, and government benefits. Only the Alto 800 Lxi trim option can be availed with the discount in Delhi and Mumbai. The Alto 800 by Maruti Suzuki is priced at Rs. 2.45 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) for the base variant.

Powering the Alto 800 is a 796cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine. The engine produces 47bhp, along with 69Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki also offers its Alto 800 with an optional CNG powered variant.

We believe these discounts from Maruti Suzuki are to curb the popularity of rising competitors. The Alto 800 has witnessed a dip in sales owing to the Renault Kwid affordable hatchback. The redi-GO from Datsun is priced even more aggressively and is expected to gain popularity soon.
