Mahindra has discretely launched an automatic variant option for the 1.99-litre XUV500 in Delhi NCR.
Mahindra will be using the 6-speed automatic gearbox which is currently present on the Scorpio and the higher specification XUV500.
Mahindra introduced the 1.99-litre mHawk in the XUV500 to bypass the ban on diesel-powered cars above 2.0-litre in NCR.
The new 1.99-litre engine was available only with a manual gearbox when Mahindra initially launched the SUV.
The new 1.9-litre mHawk engine can produce 140bhp at 3,750 rpm with the help of a Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) and a peak torque output of 320Nm.
