Mahindra XUV5OO & Scorpio 1.99-litre Diesel Engine With Revised Pricing
Mahindra along with several other manufacturers are banned from selling a diesel engine over 2,000cc in the Delhi-NCR region. Now Mahindra has developed an all-new 1.99-litre engine specifically for the state capital. The new diesel engine will be used by the XUV5OO and Scorpio.
Here is the pricing of XUV5OO and Scorpio with the 1.99-litre diesel engine:
- Mahindra XUV5OO with 1.99-litre diesel engine is priced from Rs. 11.58 lakh to Rs. 15.51 lakh
- Mahindra Scorpio with 1.99-litre diesel engine is priced from Rs. 9.67 lakh to Rs. 12.75 lakh
Note: Prices mentioned above are ex-showroom Delhi prices.
The XUV5OO with the 1.99-litre diesel engine produces 140bhp, along with 320Nm of torque. The Scorpio with a new 1.99-litre diesel engine develops 127bhp and 280Nm peak torque. Mahindra has equipped the Scorpio engine with a 5-speed gearbox and XUV5OO receives a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Supreme Court previously decided to lift the ban on the sale of diesel vehicles over 2,000cc by March 31, 2016. Mahindra is ready with their solution in case the ban continues. The Indian manufacturer wants to be ready for all hurdles that could come their way.
