Speaking at the 2nd National Workshop & Exhibition on FAME India, Pawan Sachdeva, senior general manager, Mahindra Reva said, "We are going to launch two new products by the end of this year."

"As far as electric vehicles are concerned, we think the inflexion point is here. We see a huge opportunity in this space," he continued.

Sachdeva claimed that 42 percent of all electric sold worldwide actually hit the roads in the year 2015. However in India, only 752 pure electric cars hit the streets in 2015 compared to China where thanks to buying, selling and production incentives 1,76,627 electric vehicles hit the streets.

One of the two products is expected to be the electric variant of the Supro van, which was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida.

The vehicle seen at the Expo was powered by a 73.2V AC induction motor that produces 40bhp and 90Nm of torque.

Called the eSupro, the electric van can seat eight people inside and is expected to launch quite soon.

Not much is known about the other vehicle.
