Mahindra NuvoSport Compact SUV India Launch On April 4, 2016
Mahindra & Mahindra recently announced and shared images of its upcoming model. The Indian automobile manufacturer has christened its all-new compact SUV as the 'NuvoSport'. Now Mahindra confirms that the NuvoSport will be launching in India on April 4, 2016.
In reality, the NuvoSport is the facelifted version of the Quanto by Mahindra. The NuvoSport will continue being a sub-four-metre compact SUV for the Indian market. Previously, the Quanto failed to generate desired sales by Mahindra and the NuvoSport is expected to change that.
So far, Mahindra has not shared details on the engine that will power the NuvoSport. We believe, NuvoSport will receive the same engine that was used in the Quanto. The 1.5-litre Common Rail diesel will produce 100bhp, along with 240Nm of torque and will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The overall shape of the NuvoSport will be similar to that of the Quanto compact SUV. Several design updates will be offered which significantly provided a modern and sporty appeal to the vehicle. All-new Mahindra signature grille, headlamps, body kit and much more have been added.
In terms of safety, Mahindra is most likely to take the route similar to that chosen by TUV3OO for its NuvoSport. All safety features could be offered as an option from the based model itself. We expect Mahindra NuvoSport to be priced between Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 7.5 lakh ex-showroom for base variant.
