Mahindra Launches KUV100 In India For Rs. 4.45 Lakh
Mahindra has launched the much awaited KUV100 in India for Rs. 4.45 lakh onward ex-showroom (Delhi). The Mahindra KUV100 is the third product from the carmaker in the sub-4 metre category after the Quanto and the TUV300. Also, the KUV100 is Mahindra's ninth product that has been launched this financial year.

The Mahindra KUV100 is targeted towards youngsters and first-time car buyers in India. The vehicle will compete against the Maruti Swift, Swift Dzire, and the Hyundai Grand i10. 'KUV' stands for Kool Utility Vehicle while the 100 denotes the vehicle's series. The Mahindra KUV100 is available on Flipkart as well, and bookings open on January 18, 2016.
Engine, Gearbox, & Specifications
The Mahindra KUV100 is powered by Mahindra's new m-Falcon engines that were designed from the ground up. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is a three-cylinder format, which produces 82bhp and 114Nm of torque, while the 1.2-litre diesel engine features a similar cylinder configuration, and pushes out 77bhp and 190Nm of torque.
Mileage
Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and are BS-IV compliant. The petrol engine returns a fuel efficiency of 18.15km/l and the diesel engine returns a mileage of 25.32km/l.
Features
The top-of-the-line Mahindra KUV100 variant will feature front and rear arm rests, illuminated ignition, power windows, driver's seat height adjustment, multi-functional steering wheel, a cooled glovebox, two drive modes (Eco and Power), and Mahindra's Micro Hybrid technology.
Other features include a 6-speaker infotainment system with Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity, follow me home headlamps, speed sensing door locks, 243 litres of boot space (expandable up to 473 litres if you put the rear seats down), automatic hazard lights under emergency braking, and a holder for your sunglasses.
Safety
In terms of safety, the KUV100 features standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) across all variants. The KUV100 also features an engine immobilizer and airbags for the driver and passenger in other variants apart from the base (K2) model.
The Mahindra KUV100 meets current as well as future safety regulations that will come into effect from 2017.
Colours
The Mahindra KUV100 is available in seven colours: Fiery Orange, Dazzling Silver, Pearl White, Midnight Black, Flamboyant Red, Aquamarine, and Designer Grey.
