Mahindra KUV100 Variants Explained

Mahindra is smelling success with their recently launched 'Young SUV' - KUV100. What are the variants which suit you the most? Let us look at it in detail.

The KUV100 is powered by the 1.2litre petrol and diesel engines with four variants - K2, K4, K6 and K8. ABS will be standard across variants and option of dual airbags.

Exterior & Interior

The base variants receive dual tone bumpers and rear spoiler as standard and is standard across variants. As for the wheel caps, the base variant gets a partial cap.

The second variant, K4/K4+ comes with body coloured door handles and ORVMs, wheel arch cladding, mud flaps for the front and rear, interior coloured trims, and full wheel caps.

What this variant does not get are the chrome inserts in the front grille, fog lamps with chrome accents, silver accentuated rear door handles, black-out tape on B-pillar, roof-mounted antenna, roof rails, door side cladding, alloy wheels, piano black inserts in the interior, mood lighting in inner door handles and interior silver package.

The K6/K6+ comes with most of the above features except for fog lamp with chrome accents and alloy wheels.

The top variant of KUV100 comes with all the features along with fog lamps with chrome accents for both front and rear, and alloy wheels.


The top variant receives Infotainment System with 3.5" Display Screen, In-built Driver Information System, Bluetooth Audio & Handsfree call, USB, AUX with 4 Speakers and 2 Tweeters, Mahindra BLUE SENSE® App Compatibility, Steering-Mounted Audio and Phone Controls, DRLs, Micro Hybrid Technology (Engine Start-Stop), Power-ECO Mode (In Diesel Only), and engine immobiliser.

The K2/K2+ and K4/K4+ variant come only with engine immobiliser among a whole lot of features that the KUV100 offers.

As for the K6/K6+ variant, it does not come with DRLs and Micro Hybrid Technology (Engine Start-Stop), The Power-Eco mode is available in the diesel only. However, the K6+ will get the steering mounted audio controls.

Comfort & Convenience

Mahindra KUV100 has a whole lot of features under this category, the K2 and K4 misses out big in power windows on all doors, central locking, removable storage bin with handles under co-driver seat, follow-me and lead-me headlamps, seat belt warning for driver seat, rear wash and wiper, defogger, parcel tray, and puddle lamps on all doors.

The K4 though will get power windows on all four doors, manual central locking, seat belt warning for the driver seat and rear parcel tray.

The K6/K6+ misses out on storage in the co-driver seat and puddle lamps on all doors.Mahindra could have featured some of the above to the K4/K4+ to make it competitive.


All the variants come with dual airbags as an option, the top variant gets it as standard. Apart from this, the top variant also gets speed sensing door locks, automatic hazard warning lamps on panic braking, bonnet opening or in the event of a crash.

The top of the variant also features anti-theft security alarm and ISOFIX Child Seat Mount on Rear Seat

Mahindra has scored big on the safety front and it is leading the pack in terms of features for your safety requirement.


The price of the Mahindra KUV100 starts at Rs. 4.48 lakh and Rs. 5.33 lakh for the base petrol and diesel variant respectively, and it goes up to Rs. 6.95 lakh for the top variant in the diesel engine.
