Mahindra’s ‘First Choice’ Drives Into Self-Branded Spare Parts
The separate aftermarket division of the Mahindra Group, Mahindra First Choice Services (MFCS) has begun its own Mahindra First Choice (MFC) branded spare parts. This will cater to the used car buyers who are looking for branded spare parts.
With this, pre-owned car buyers whose cars are out of warranty and are constantly looking for genuine spare parts can opt for Mahindra's self-branded spare parts which are cheaper than the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) branded parts.
MFC launched the branded spare parts about six months back and contributes 10 percent of the overall turnover of the Mahindra First Choice Services and is expected to increase to 30 to 40 percent in the coming years.
The reaction of the customers has been positive, nearly 50 percent of all the customers who service their vehicles at the MFC outlets are opting for the MFC-certified spare parts. These spare parts are 60 percent lesser than the OEM spare parts.
In the coming future, MFCS is looking to tie up with some of the leading automotive components manufacturers for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) as it prepares to spread the network to about 300 outlets from the existing 160 outlets by the end of this fiscal.
