Mahindra To Hike Price Upto Rs. 1.5 Lakh On BSVI Inclusion
Mahindra & Mahindra has recently introduced several new and exciting models in the country. Their goal is to be the best automobile manufacturer in the domestic market. Several features that are available on high-end vehicles have been implemented before time by Mahindra on its models.
Indian Government plans on making BS VI emission norms standard by 2020. Currently, Indian automobile manufacturers are following the BS IV emission norms. Oil companies will also have to supply fuel and other aspects that are related to BS VI emission norms.
The largest seller of SUVs in India, Mahindra believes that on adoption of BS VI models, the vehicle price will rise significantly. Based on the model, Mahindra could increase the price of models ranging from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1.50 lakh.
The Indian automobile manufacturer plans on introducing several optional petrol engines. Mahindra will be providing customers of XUV5OO and Scorpio with optional petrol engines. A wide range of 1.2-litre, 1.5-litre, 1.6-litre, and 2.2-litre petrol engines are being developed.
Previously, India was to adopt BS V emission norms by 2020 and BS VI emission norms by 2024. Unfortunately, air pollution is constantly getting worse and pollution from vehicles is a one of the causes. Based on the deteriorating air quality Indian Government has decided to jump directly to BSVI norm by 2020.
