Magnussen Exploring Haas Racing Seat For 2017 F1 Season
Kevin Magnussen is exploring his options, in case his contract with Renault F1 Team is not renewed. The Danish driver is linked to Haas Racing Team for 2017 Formula One season.
Kevin Magnussen has experienced a wretched season with Renault F1 Team. So far, his contract with the French-based team has not been renewed. Renault F1 Team has decided only on one driver and has decided to announce their final driver for 2017 by the last race.
Now the Danish driver is exploring his options to continue in Formula One Championship. Kevin Magnussen has commenced talks with Haas Racing Team. Both Magnussen and Renault admit that the talks are normal and keeping options open is acceptable.
As of now, Renault F1 Team has only confirmed Nico Hulkenberg for 2017 season. The French-based team is undecided whether to continue with Jolyon Palmer or Kevin Magnussen. However, Renault also confirms that they are open to taking on a young driver as well.
Currently, Renault provides an engine to Red Bull Racing which is rebadged by Tag Heuer. Unfortunately, the factory team has not been able to replicate their customer team. This is Renault's re-introduction into Formula One and they still have a lot to learn.
