The long wait for Lexus to finally enter India seems to be at an end an if recent spy pictures snapped by Motorbeam are to believed, the launch of the luxury arm of Japanese auto giant Toyota is extremely close.
The spy pics reveal the Lexus RX 450h hybrid SUV on its way to a customer in the national capital of Delhi with a temporary registration number already attached to the car.
The Lexus RX 450h is powered by a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 engine which is supplemented by an electric motor. Combined together, the hybrid setup pushes out a total of 308bhp.
According to the driver of the SUV, Toyota has already started sales of the luxury SUV in India and the on-road price of the hybrid 4x4 is around Rs. 80 - 85 lakh.
Toyota is said to be delivering a limited number of units of the RX 450h ahead of its launch next month and these SUVs could be any of the 29 units of the RX 450h that Toyota imported into India from Japan.
The Japanese carmaker is set to open two showrooms in the country when it enters India, with one in national capital of New Delhi and the other in the financial capital of the nation, Mumbai.
