Lexus Coming To India By 2017 With Two Showrooms Initially
Lexus has now confirmed to offer its products in the Indian market according to reports. Very first Lexus model on Indian roads could be seen sometime during 2017. So far, no accurate launch and entry date have been provided by Lexus India.
Initially, the Japanese luxury car manufacturer will operate only through two showrooms. They will be located in Mumbai and New Delhi. Based on demand of Lexus products in India, the manufacturer will add more sales and service outlets across India.
Previously, Lexus had decided only to launch hybrid products in the Indian market. Now, the Japanese-based luxury car maker will introduce an array of vehicles in India. These will consist of conventional as well as hybrid engines for the country.
Indian Government did not announce subsidies for hybrid vehicles in the latest financial plan. The FAME Scheme still exists, however, it does not offer major benefits to hybrid vehicles. This is the very reason for Lexus dropping its plan of an all hybrid line-up in India.
Toyota Motors is the parent company of Lexus, which works as a luxury brand. Currently, Lexus is present in over 70 countries and is coming to Indian shores for the first time. Lexus was founded in 1989 by Eiji Toyoda with its headquarters in Nagoya, Japan.
