Mercedes To Launch 9 New Models In 2017
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz plans to unveil 9 new models in 2017, leaked documents have revealed.
The documents reveal plans for 9 vehicles including a pickup truck that will bear the Mercedes badge along with two electric cars that will bear the Smart badge.
The leaked plans show plans for three new variants of the E-Class (a car that we in India still are waiting for) in the form of the E-Class coupe, the E-Class cabriolet, and the E-Class All Terrain ( a softroader variant of the E-Class).
Fans of Merc's AMG GT sports car can look forward to a new variant of the sports car called the AMG GT C. The GT C will be available in both coupe and roadster form. Motor Authority claims that the C in the name may stand for Clubsport and that the C may form a new trim level which sits in between the GT S and the GT R. Speaking of the GT R, the car is also part of the roadmap as deliveries are only expected to start in 2017.
The road map also revealed plans for a facelifted versions of the S-Class and the entry-level GLA SUV.
However, the biggest news in the roadmap was the fact that the Mercedes pickup truck will soon become a reality. The new pickup truck which is expected to bear the GLT badge, will share its underpinnings with the Nissan Navara NP300.
