The Legacy Of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Comes To An End
The last generation for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is officially dead now, yes the final example of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X was sold in an auction in North America.
The Lancer Evo X was sold at a staggering $76,400 (Approximately Rs 51 lakh). To celebrate this Mitsubishi had built 1600 units of Evo Final Edition models. Which was based on manual transmission Evo GSR, and was priced at $37,995 (Approximately Rs 25 lakh). Which means the very last Evo Final Edition was sold for double the price.
So what next? Will Evo's will ever be manufactured? Well it's very unlikely to happen. If at all a new Evo enters production, it will not follow the same recipe that we are all seeing for years.
Mitsubishi hints that future Evolution series will be a hybrid crossover and far from its rally roots. The iconic rally car of streets is officially extinct for now.
