Kia Sportage And Sorento SUVs Spotted In India
The Kia Sorento and Kia Sportage SUVs has been spotted in Kolkata, India. The vehicles were being ferried to Bhutan and Nepal.
Hyundai's subsidiary firm the Kia Motors Corporation have been keen to enter the Indian market. In order to expand its reach to India, the Korean car maker has already kickstarted the process.
Kia has opened a research and development centre in Hyderabad and this facility has already started its operations. Kia Motors wants to design and develop cars focused on the Indian market and make a name for itself in the country.
With all these being said, a few new SUVs from Kia have been spotted in Kolkata, India. The SUV models spotted were the Kia Sorento and the Kia Sportage.
Well, it's not the case that Kia will be launching these models in the Indian market in the near future. These SUVs were being ferried to Nepal and Bhutan.
Globally, the 2016 Kia Sportage SUV is sold with both the petrol and diesel engine option. The petrol version is available in two variants - four-litre GDI and Nu 2-litre MPI engine which produces 181bhp and 154bhp respectively.
The diesel variant is powered by 2-litre engine which produces 182bhp and 402Nm of torque. Both the petrol and diesel variants are available with the automatic and manual transmission.
The Kia Sorento sits above the Sportage and it comes with a premium price tag. Identical to Sportage, the Sorento is available with two petrol engines and diesel engine options. The 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine and 2.4-litre petrol unit churns out 266bhp and 169bhp respectively.
The 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine produces 197bhp. Both the petrol and diesel engines are coupled to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
