The current second-gen Kia Picanto is a five-year-old model and it is going to be replaced by the third generation model. Kia Motors is still developing the car and is scheduled to launch in 2017.
JACLUB spotted the test mule on the road in Korea and uploaded a spy video. Some test mules have also been flown to Europe for winter testing.
The exterior is heavily updated and on the front the features a hexagonal grille with rounded edges and wide tiger-nose grille. The car also gets a redesigned bumper, LED headlamps and fog lamps with projector lighting.
The side profile of the car is still unknown. The test mules were camouflaged, but the windows appear to be the same shape and size of the current model.
On the rear, the car features a new C-shaped LED tail lamps. The interior is also updated and it includes a new three-spoke steering wheel, reworked dashboard and centre console, and horizontal HVAC vents.
The vehicle is expected to get two engine variants. A 1.0-litre three-cylinder and a 1.25-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 65bhp and 85bhp respectively.
From the spy shots, we can see it has a 5-speed manual transmission and the vehicle will also get an automatic gearbox. The car will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017.
