Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover Reports Solid September Sales
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the Tata Motors-owned carmaker reported an increase of 28 percent in sales for the month of September 2016. The company has sold a total of 61,047 units for the month.
The main driver in sales for JLR came from Land Rover Discovery, Discovery Sport, the Range Rover Evoque, and the Jaguar F-Pace. Also, good sales were reported from the Chinese market, Tata Motors said.
Of the sales, the Jaguar brand sold 17,640 units in September, a clear 70 percent increase compared to September 2015. This was driven by the sales of the SUV F-Pace and sedan XE.
Land Rover's sales for September were at 43,407 units, that is a 17 percent increase year-on-year. Strong sales came from Discovery Sport which sold 12,838 units and 11,761 units of the Range Rover Evoque.
Region-wise, the company reported an increase of 50 percent increase in sales from China, 32 percent from Europe, 30 percent from the UK, North America was up by 23 percent and other overseas markets up by 3 percent.
JLR is getting ready to launch the Jaguar F-Pace in India on October 20, 2016, it has revealed that prices will start at Rs 68.40 lakh and it has started accepting bookings for the SUV.
The Jaguar F-Pace has been well received globally and could be expecting the same here in India. The F-Pace will come to India in Completely Built Unit (CBU) route.
Once launched the Jaguar F-Pace will rival the likes of Porsche Macan, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
Later, JLR is expected to bring the convertible Range Rover Evoque to India. The crossover Range Rover Evoque has been well received in the country.
