Spotted: 3-Door Version Of Jeep Wrangler In India
The iconic off-roader Wrangler from the American company Jeep finally set its foot in India. Most of the auto enthusiasts expected Jeep to launch the 3-door version of the Wrangler; however, the 5-door version of the Wrangler Unlimited was launched.
The Fiat-owned carmaker Jeep in India is planning to bring the 3-door version as well, this model has been spotted at the Fiat's plant in India, Ranjangaon plant in Pune. So what does the 3-door version bring nostalgia? The Jeep Wrangler in its original avatar wasthe classic 3-door model.
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is built on an extended platform of the 3-door version, and its a lot more fun to drive the classic 3-door model. All the more interesting is that the 3-door version of the Wrangler is mounted with a powerful 3.6-litre V6 petrol unit developing a massive 281bhp and 352Nm of peak torque.
In the international market, the 3-door version comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox or a choice of the 5-speed automatic, India, on the other hand, will get the 5-speed AT. The difference between the Wrangler Unlimited and the classic Wrangler is the extended wheelbase which helps with the third-row seating.
