Jeep has entered India with its iconic Wrangler and Grand Cherokee and has good plans for the future in the country. The two models launched in India is being brought as a Completely Built Unit (CBU); however, it is looking to manufacture vehicles in India, one of them being C-SUV.

1. Made For Emerging Markets Like India
Jeep C-SUV is being built mainly targeting emerging markets like India and Brazil, where mini crossovers and SUV are enjoying their popularity. Since the Renegade is priced on the higher side, the C-SUV will be the right choice for India.
2. Right-Hand Drive
Jeep will build the C-SUV most probably in India as this will be the hub for right-hand drive Jeep range of vehicles. India will be the global hub for Jeep to export the C-SUV to right-hand drive markets.
3. Jeep's DNA
Despite positioning the Jeep C-SUV in the entry level segment, the DNA of the Jeep brand will not be compromised for the emerging markets. The C-SUV from Jeep will continue to boast about the off-road capabilities, the American SUV manufacturer is known for.
4. Engine Specifications
Jeep will power the C-SUV with Fiat sourced 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine which develops 171bhp of power, which will come with the four-wheel drive. Also, expected is the downsized 1.6-litre diesel mill which is expected to churn out 104 to 118bhp of power.
5. Competition
Since the Jeep C-SUV will be locally built in India at the Ranjangaon plant, it will be priced competitively in the range of Rs 20 lakh. The Jeep C-SUV will compete with the soon-to-be-launched Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.

Jeep is taking India as aserious market for SUVs and is tweaking its range of vehicles to suit the sentiments of the Indian market.
