Jaguar Set To Accept Bookings Of F-Pace Luxury SUV In India Soon
Jaguar has begun testing its all-new luxury SUV on Indian roads. Now, bookings for Jaguar F-Pace are set to begin pan India by September-end. The F-Pace luxury SUV is most likely to be launched in the country sometime during October 2016.
Once launched, Jaguar F-Pace will bear a price tag in the range of Rs. 80 lakh to Rs. 1 crore. This means Jaguar F-Pace will be imported to India via CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Expect Jaguar dealerships to accept bookings at Rs. 5 lakh token amount for the F-Pace.
For the Indian market, Jaguar F-Pace will only be equipped with diesel engines. Initially, F-Pace will feature a 2.0-litre diesel engine, while a 3.0-litre V6 engine will be introduced at a later stage. All engines will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
The F-Pace is based on Jaguar's XE platform and over 80-percent of its structure is made out of aluminium. Several other weight reduction methods have been adopted by Jaguar. Behind the dashboard, magnesium is used in the crossbeam, while tailgate uses a composite material.
Jaguar F-Pace will compete with the likes of BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Range Rover Evoque. It will be interesting to see how the luxury SUV will perform in the Indian market. Stay tuned for more new and reports regarding Jaguar India.
