Ishaan Dodhiwala Takes Double Victory In Action Packed Volkswagen Vento Cup Race
Ishaan Dodhiwala took double victory in round three of the MMSC Volkswagen Vento cup 2016. With the recently laid new asphalt, drivers were able to push their Ventos a step further. It was evident in the qualifying session of the race. Ishaan was in great form to grab two victories and a podium to get an inch closer towards his 2016 driver's title.
Karminder Pal Singh took a surprise victory in the first race, while Ishaan finished second due to a bad start. Aditya Pawar finished third. With the grid positions in reverse order for the next day, Pradeep Rao was on pole position.
The second race was filled with action with Pradeep making a good start, Aditya went off the track and Keith too had his moments which brought the safety car into play. It was all going well for Pradeep until, Raunak Ajinkya hit a tyre wall and the race was red flagged. After cleaning the track, the race resumed with only three laps to go.
Pradeep made a mistake and went off, which propelled Ishaan to lead, and he took victory in race two. Dhruv Behl finished second and Niranjan Todkari finished in the final podium spot. Karminder took fourth, coming all the way down from the ninth position.
The third race was a clean one with no major incidents occurring. Ishaan who started from pole, drove a perfect race to take his second victory. Karminder too had good pace to take second position after his first race win. Niranjan benefited from Keith's mistake and crossed the line in third position. Keith was fourth after his own mishaps. Dhruv finished fifth in last race of the day.
